WHO WE ARE
Humanitarian and Development Foundation for Myanmar is a registered non-profit organization based in the United States. We are friends from different backgrounds and ages working for one goal: developing Myanmar towards a positive future. Since the military coup of February 1st, 2021, people in Myanmar have suffered from national trauma affecting the whole country with repercussions felt around the world. Our team of volunteers came together with a similar urgency to raise awareness of Myanmar's humanitarian and civil society crisis and to seek donations to help the people's resiliency for present and future needs.
We have been able to support adults and children with immediate needs for food, health care and shelter and counseling for civil servants such as rail workers and teachers, farmers, health care professionals, basic workers, bankers, students and refugees. HDFM will serve as a vehicle for more coordinated action in raising funds and distributing them for the betterment of Myanmar.
Myanmar Earthquake appeal.
On March 28th, 2025, Myanmar experienced a devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake, which had a severe impact on the central region, resulting in significant loss of life, including thousands of reported fatalities with a rising death toll, thousands injured with inadequate medical care, thousands trapped under rubble, and many reported missing. Due to a shortage of shelter, numerous individuals are forced to sleep on the streets.
